The Jefferson Awards is a national organization that recognizes outstanding community service done by individuals as well as groups. Many people have been recognized by the Jefferson Awards including many celebrities like Peyton Manning and Oprah. There are 3 branches to the Jefferson Award: the Business Sector, the Community Sector, and the Student Sector.
The Student Sector is called Students in Action. The goal of the Students in Action program is to recognize and promote student leadership throughout the country. We compete at the regional level, and were lucky enough win Regions and go to Nationals this past summer. This year, the Jefferson Club is working with Oakbrook Middle School to establish an effective leadership team at the middle school level as well as establish a mentoring program.
At Ashley Ridge, community service is at the heart of every student. It is our job, as members of the Jefferson Leadership team, to recognize this passion the students have for helping out the community and to let the students know that their work doesn't go unnoticed.
We would like to thank everyone for what they have contributed to the school and their community!
The Leadership class has worked hard to raise money and cans for the Lowcountry Food Bank and ARK. Thank you ARHS Leadership classes for your hard work!
If you would like to nominate someone or a group at Ashley Ridge that does outstanding community service, please filll out our form and send it to Ashley Ridge or email us your responses at firstname.lastname@example.org
